In America, Park rangers are advising hikers and campers in national parks to be alert for bears and take extra precautions to avoid an encounter. They advise park visitors to wear little bells on their clothes so they make noise when hiking. The bell noise allows bears to hear them coming from a distance, so they won’t be startled by a hiker accidentally sneaking up on them, which might cause a bear to charge. Visitors are told they should also carry a pepper spray can just in case they encounter a bear. Spraying the pepper into the air will irritate the bear’s sensitive nose and it will run away. It is also a good idea to keep an eye out for fresh bear droppings so you have an idea if bears are in the area. People should be able to recognise the difference between black bear and grizzly bear scat. Black bear droppings are smaller and often contain berries, leaves, and possibly bits of fur. Grizzly bear droppings tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper.
My friend was bragging about how his new 3-D printer can print a gun. But I wasn't impressed.... I've had a Canon printer for years.
"Where have you been, Billy?" his mother inquired of her son as he entered the house through the front door. I’ve been up Sandy Lane, Mother. OK Billy, your tea is on the table. Billy went into the kitchen just as the front door opened and in walked her other son, John. And where have you been, our John? I’ve been up Sandy Lane, Mother. OK John, your tea is on the table. John went into the kitchen to get his tea. A short while later, there was a knock at the front door. On opening the door, Billy and John’s mum found a very pretty young woman standing there. Mother said "can I help you young lady?" Yes, she replied, "Is your Billy and John at home." Yes they are replied the Mother, who shall I say is calling she asked. I’m “Sandy Lane”, she replied. Joe.
