The green lights in boxes mean STOP, just the same as when there are red lights in the boxes. Cars only get to sometimes move on the roads with tolls on them, but that's just another tax.

I think it's coming next year, if I read eBay correctly.

I just got hit w taxes at an AD even though they shipped it to a state there was no AD. Salesman said Trump made these changes. ‍♂️

ignorance is bliss. This has ZERO to do with Trump. Sales taxes in the US are nothing new, its just that its taken years for individual states to react to the internet and interstate commerce. The taxes have ALWAYS been due on out of state sales, they just relied on you to self report in the past. Since only 1% of the population actually self reported -they finally figured out how to collect and you are seeing this slowly being implemented.

Yep. Right on the money (pun intended). The tax free holiday on the Internet is soon coming to an end. It was good while it lasted and if you are in the U.S. and you are looking to make a high end purchase online, sooner rather than later is the ticket if you want to save yourself several hundred. At least we don't have to deal with a VAT, yet. In any case, I'm sure that the newly collected revenue will be put to good use under the wise stewardship of our elected officials! ;)

This is my memory of the NT roads. And I can remember this turning into a goat track at Camooweal on the QLD border!

Aahhh, The channel country around the Queensland border. Still, better than the boredom of the Barkley Tablelands.

There is nothing boring in the NT ;)
We even let you drive a bit faster, because it’s more fun hitting a roo at 130km than only 110km

Once I get to the Barkley I know it’s only one right turn to get home.

21% import tax here. Most watches I see on OF are from outside the EU. Even if the asking price here is fair, the noob tax that is left out is replaced with the import tax

It's the new world we live in, everyone everywhere is looking for a cut....particularly the government. They feel late to the party...

No speed limits in 1994 when I was in the NT.

Remarkable how quickly 145 litres of petrol disappears in a Landcruiser at 160km/h..
