Synchronisation Issue with 2017 Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch

I have noticed a synchronisation issue with my 2017 Moonwatch. The second hand & minute hand are not synchronised - the minute hand has completed its move to the next minute marker when the second hand is only at around 27 seconds on the dial, rather than moving to the next minute as the second hand is at 60 on the dial.
Has anyone had this problem? If so, how easy was it to correct it?

    Thanks,

    ....

It’s on how you set it. As the minute hand is not jumping it’s not coupled with second hand. When you set the watch you determine the relationship of the minute hand to the second hand.

Or are you talking about the chronograph? From your description it sounds like your not.

No, not the chronograph. It's the relationship between the second & minute hands whereby the minute hand moves to its next point when the second hand is not at the 60 point. Is there a simple fix?

    Thanks,

Set your minute to the marker as the seconds subdial hand hits the 60 second mark

This, as noted above it’s how you set it.

I think I've set it correctly now. I've been spoiled as all my other watches have a hack function.

So does the Speedmaster. It tells you how to do it right in the manual. There has been some debate, IIRC, surrounding whether or not this is bad for the movement in the long run, but I've done it from time to time without trouble.

Sounds like you're part the way there.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned puting a little bit of back-wind pressure on the Winding crown to stop the seconds hand if you want to more precisely sync the Minute and Seconds hands to a standardised time source.
I post this because it seems it may be a feature you're not fully aware of given you are asking about the other aspect of basic time setting on a mechanical watch. Is your previous experience also limited to Quartz watches?

I read somewhere only do this with 861s onwards - not 321 due to the column wheel, I'm sure the experts out there can advise............

No, my other watch is a 2254 Seamaster automatic but it has a hack function which simplifies matters.
I'm also a bit wary of inadvertently damaging the Speedy by some epic act of hamfisted ineptitude ..

I am long past the day when I obsess as to whether the minute hand is exactly centered as the second hand passes 12 o'clock. I'll eyeball it when setting the watch and sometimes its close, sometimes not, it depends on slack in the gear train and other things. If you fiddle with yours long enough you'll figure it out, but its not important to me.

This has nothing to do with the presence or lack of a column wheel...
