It’s tough choice. I like PO hands, SMP markers, dial I’m okay either way, PO bracelet, and SMP price. But I think I like SMP better because of the price 😁

I’ve been wearing my 43.5 mm PO for well over a year now. It is a fantastic watch, the 8900 movement with its independent hour hand, and Metas certification. The watch itself wears smaller than 43.5mm may indicate and I think the dial looks better spaced than the 39.5mm version. The bracelet and its micro adjustment clasp are outstanding.

42mm PO 2500 hands down. New generation is too thick and chunky in my opinion. But if you have the wrist for it then go with the newer generation for the better movement.

I agree. one of the things i don't really fancy the newer POs are the thickness and chunkiness. And the steel bracelet isn't as sweet as the SMPs.

I looked at the new SMP and then the Planet Ocean 43.5 and went for the Planet Ocean. I have a small wrist yet the 43.5 is a great fit despite its thickness. The lugs and bracelet links are so well designed that the watch wears very comfortably. It's a superb watch.

I've just bought a new Planet Ocean 43.5mm.
Absolutely love it. If you're 6" tall you're wrists should look fine with this. They do a 39mm also I believe if you feel it looks too large.

Well the prices are not going up yet....

Does depend when you bought it, My 2500 cost me £1600 GB new, granted it was 10 years ago, but I saw one for 3K, and some others for well over the 2K mark on Watchfinder, who I appreciate are a bit of a rip, (see their 2K over RRP for a second hand Sub) but I can earn from it now, if I sold it. My 8500 on the other hand, jury still out! That won't bring a profit any time soon if I did sell it.

PO 42 2500 all day long.
I still plan to pick up a standard 2500D at some point as over the last couple of years I have noticed they don't seem to hang around as long #contemporaryclassic

Omega watches' bracelets are amazing, especially for the seamasters range. The lugs fit snugly on big or small wrist.

There's also the titanium Planet Ocean to consider which helps the comfort by being considerably lighter.

The PO is a stunning watch. I like aspects and models from all three generations. Latest generation is alightly thicker and larger, but (personalky) I think the finish and asthetics are better and the tech is ‘sky high’. Only downside I found was that they are a little ‘big and heavy’ but you get used to it and not really a big deal after some time on the wrist. Love my Orange PO as well as the latest gen Chrono (which is by far the largest watch I own - Wolf winder does not like the weight!)
