Hi everyone, Steve here from the UK.
I've been thinking of a PO for a while and I normally like a big weighty watch but I tried on a newish 45.5mm case model and it was too big and heavy imo.
Can anyone advise the weight of this versus a 43.5mm one. I do like the 2005 42mm model but would hope the size in between would be an option.
Tia

Welcome to the forum!

I've never tried the 45.5mm one, but here's my 43.5 on the bracelet, 211 grams. IIRC this was with one or two links removed from the bracelet.

Honestly I’d not worry about weight. You quickly get used to it.

I’ve got a 45.5 planet ocean chrono on bracelet and it’s a heavy beast. The only time I notice it is for a few minutes after I put it on if I’ve not worn it in awhile.

size and style to complement you is more
Important.

Ok thanks, just need to explore the UK cost of a pre owned 215.30.44.21.01.001 black dial 43.5 case as I till think the in between size is more me, seems £4k or there about.

While I can rock the 45.5 I really like the current 39.5.

You can always consider a titanium or ceramic model if you think the weight is really an issue.

43.5 perfect.
I bought the new 42mm 300m diver and it just did nothing for me, felt awkward on the wrist, looked like it was trying too hard compared to its predesessors and that 20mm none tapered bracelet, well we won't even go there.
Sold it and got the 43.5 PO and on the bracelet, IMO, wears so much more comfortably than the 300m. In fact it feels smaller?
Try one on, walk away and try on again, you won't regret it.

Well here's an update, and it's no body's fault but my own, last week end I tried a preowned 45.5 version at a watch outlet of a Planet Ocean and felt it was too big. I'd already felt I fancied a Seamaster 2531.80 blue Brosnan Goldeneye for my starter Omega and chose that instead.
Anyway the PO which had been the first choice bugged me and doing my research after rather than before I discovered there was a 43.5 version.
Now I've decided to return the 2531 under my 14 day return option and go for the PO after all in the size I think I'll prefer. I like big watches anyway and probably could have lived with the 45.5 but hope this will be right for me. I think I'll take my time and eventually get another "Goldeneye" but should spend a fair bit less by waiting for a quartz no box/paper preowned instead as it'll get work/weekday wear and may get knocked around a bit.

Glad it worked out for you

I'm looking at acquiring a PO 2500 in 42mm too... just wondering what your wrist size is? They both look good but I prefer the PO 2500 on your wrist!

I tried the 43.5 because it seemed the 45.5 was huge, I really wanted the later model but same for the first gen.
I think my photo is a bit close up making them both seem big.
I always felt my wrists were small but measure 180mm a fraction over 7" and was actually worried the first gen could look small.
The first gen wears best of the two for me but I have big watches (vintage Seiko cushion or turtle as you prefer and tuna's too) and the 43.5 is no worse than anything else I have. Which means I'm stuck with both.
