路Well... as anyone who saw my post on the Art Deco thread knows, I was planning on keeping this one. Came from the same amazing watch collector estate I was in recently. This is one I instantly fell in love with and thought she'd enter the collection. BUT after a few days of reflection, not sure she'll get the wrist time she deserves. But it's an incredible piece, so thought I'd offer it up to the forum.
From the research I've done, I believe this beauty dates to app. 1931. Not hard to see why I fell in love! Has it all: enameled case, raised silvered numerals, and those sweet blued hands!
Case measures app. 22mm wide, not including the crown, and 37mm long. Pretty classic vintage tank sizing, pictured above on my 6.5" wrist for reference.
Love all the Art Deco detailing on the 14 karat white gold-filled case:
Will come on this black leather strap, as found:
Winds, sets, and runs very well. Feels crisp. That being said, no service history that I now of, so as with all vintage a service is recommended for regular use.
I had my watchmaker open this to take some macro shots. Cool to see that great cal. 157 in action. And the "reinforced with extra gold" made me smile!
Gruen is out of my collecting wheelhouse. It's a brand I've long admired but haven't bought or sold many over the years. I'm thinking $400 for this unique piece is fair, which will include fully insured shipping anywhere in the US. International shipping to be discussed.
Payment via Paypal F&F, Wise, or Venmo.
No returns unless misrepresented. And it won't be. I have a lot of great feedback here to prove that.
Thanks for looking at this Art Deco sweetness! It's one I'd be very happy to keep, but I'll offer it up here to a wrist that might give it more time than my own.
As always, thanks to OF for the space!
