This thread is purely for noting parts, movements or watches that are known to be suspicious. If you find a piece that isn't kosher, please note the identifying numbers along with as much information as possible. This thread should not be used for musings or questions but only where a piece can be proven to be incorrect.

    321 movement number 25009475.

This bridge was sold on eBay on 9th March, 2017 (bridge only). If it appears in a movement, then that movement can only be an assemblage of parts or "doctored". Start a separate thread for this and make sure you leave breadcrumbs for OmegaRolex. His best friend is his Holy Grail and he will not only tell you everything you want to know, he'll regale you with stories of how his life changed once he purchased the magical beast.

Here are a couple more which have recently popped up.

Posting them here in hopes that if someone in the future is googling these serial numbers they might find that the bridges are not original to the movement.

This is terrible - it means that when someone buys a watch with one of these inside it and requests for an archive, he could be getting an archive extract for a serial bridge!:(

I have seen worse crimes. I doubt these will come up Speedmaster. More likely to be Seamasters, unless they come with an extract?

Then say, Simon. Whataboutism alone isn't sufficent.

I think it's OK to sell whole movements, otherwise many dilapidated Speedy's could not be repaired at all! Important would be not to use it to build a Frankenwatch but the same could be said of Dials etc.

Perhaps I phrased that badly, but buying a bridge that at most may be more date correct than the doner movement you have, and unlikely to be a Speedmaster, is probably a crime of idiocy. Especially at those prices!
