Survey Man checking in: do you prefer 0mm taper, 2mm taper, or a 4mm taper on your bracelets/straps?

I prefer whichever bracelet was designed for the watch. The 1162 is a great bracelet with some real heft and a feeling of total security which goes from 23mm at the watch head to 16mm at the clasp. I wouldn't change any bracelet on my tool watches for another ... though they do alternate with straps.

Edit: sorry for the lighting, the main bulb blew when I went into the bedroom.

I see those Rolexes with the extreme taper and I think it looks silly. I prefer no taper, especially since most of my bracelets and sstraps are 18mm. It would look too dainty.

I couldn't wear the original bracelet that came with my original MkII Speedmaster.

It felt ridiculous to me. Totally out of proportion.
The 1162? I really like that bracelet, but only on the MK series ... it looks wrong on anything else. But hey, just goes to show that we're all different.

I really, really, dislike non-tapered bracelets or straps, it's a deal breaker, they just looks like cheap shortcuts to me.

馃憤 you can add my name to the group of those disliking non-tapered profiles -- IMO, I see a 2-4mm taper profile of bracelets/straps as a more refined/elegant look...but like other aspects of watches, is a personal preference...I'd say keep the non-tapered bracelets on electronic shackles 馃榿

Your hand looks so different in each of the surveys man 馃榿

could it be the effect of different taper profiles? 馃檮

Prefer the 1168 on a Speedmaster.

Not very common so a 1171 with 633 end links is the next best for me.
On an SM300.

My favorite bracelet - the modern Rolex Oyster with solid endlinks & glidelock clasp, standard on the SubC. [emoji106]
I second that

Most comfortable strap is the Tag Heuer SL/E link bracelet.

I generally like bracelets that taper. For the non-tapering type, for me it depends what the lug width is that's held all the way around. A non-tapering 22mm bracelet would be simple too much metal! 20mm non-taper wouldn't bother me at all.

I have to be in the right mood to wear my IWC 21mm non-tapering bracelet on my Doppel chrono. So robust but a tad too much meat.

My hands change from day to day. This is also me. The Apple watch really changes things up:

Based on a huge sample size of 19, it appears that the overwhelming majority of OF members prefer tapered bracelets.
