I was in a Costco, today, and not ONE Omega or Rolex! Is that because, on Christmas Eve, they were sold out? Or has supply to Costco tightened?

Didn't Omega take Costco to court? Surely, you can't buy a Rolex at Costco?

Last week when I went to my local Costco they were still selling Omegas.

It doesn't happen often. But I once did see a Rolex in the display at Costco.

That's a situation where whether or not Omega liked being there they had to do it for the AD's to show they weren't behind undercutting them.

What is it about Rolex that would make you think they could not be bought at Costco like any of the other mid-tier brands they often sell there?

Rolex can be found in many places...recently a thread on another Canadian specific forum noted Rolex watches being available at a store here called Winners. Winners is a store that sells discounted clothing and accessories and are owned by the same company as TJ Maxx and Marshalls in the US, with a similar feel and selection of goods typically.

Oh, and don't call me Shirley! ;)

    Cheers, Al

I was at Costco two days ago, and they had both an Omega and a Rolex. Warrenty was through Costco not the manufacturer.

As my teenage daughter would say, "Oh, burn!" I've seen Cartier watches at nearby Costcos, too. Maybe next time I need a gallon of ketchup I'll pick up a mid-tier watch, too. ;-)

I didn't mean that to be offensive, just IMO a proper characterization of the brand. Rolex is certainly not haute horlogerie, so I didn't really think it was a controversial statement...

There are hundreds of threads and thousands of pages "discussing" the horological heirarchy. Thankfully, most of them are not here on OF.;)

If anyone wants the real heirarchy, PM @Cornolio

After reading this I assume Costco is another grey market dealer. Always believed they were a large grocery and household supermarket chain buying their stock in bulk passing on the savings that way. A place to go when one is on a (tight) budget. Never seen one in Australia yet therefore I am not familiar with their products. Of which they must have a great variety when it also includes watch brands like Rolex and Omega.

I have seen plenty of those threads, usually populated by brand fanboys, which are not typically a problem here thankfully. One reason why I was pretty sure it would not cause a stir here, but some seem to enjoy being stirred. :)

Costco is here in Australia. I often go to their Canberra store. They are like IKEA in that shopping there is quite an experience!
