    Check this out,

This is an add for the Omega Speedmaster published in the Israeli newspaper "Yediot Ahronot" ("Latest news") on July 21st 1969.
I guess Omega had a worldwide add campaign for the Speedmaster ready to go as soon as Apollo 11 landed on the moon:

Here is a translation of the add. (A pretty heavy sales pitch!!):

Omega - The first watch that made it to the moon - Salutes the people who brought it there.

The watch shown in the pictures is a very special one.
It has been worn on the wrists of the US NASA astronauts since 1965.
It has "made" the first ever space walk, and just made history by being the first watch that made it to the moon worn by a person.

This is the Omega Speedmaster Chronograph. The only watch approved by NASA (The American Space Agency) for manned missions in space.

Even though this is a very special watch, fact is that it is a regular production watch from the Speedmaster series without any modifications or changes. Right off the production line. It only uses a special strap chosen especially by NASA, which also went through a series of rigorous tests, and along with the watch, has been approved to go on this trip. And when we are saying “Trip” - each adventure would look like a walk in the park comparing to what a watch like this went through.

Imagine soaring 40,000 Kilometers within one hour, immense changes in air pressure, and extreme temperature changes, amongst other shakes and rattles. All of which can affect the watch’s functionality and timekeeping, and those are the things that absolutely cannot happen during space travel.
With the Omega Speedmaster they won't.
Other watches might “Panic” under such pressure, but the Omega Speedmaster is a tough watch, as it went through a rigorous series of tests and passed with flying colors.
It is really a watch that is suitable for all sports activities and the toughest jobs.
It is actually a Chronometer which was used by pilots even before Apollo 11.
La Mans, and Monza racing drivers amongst others, know from experience that there is no substitution to this watch on the race track.
5 dial functions and 6 hands can measure time and split seconds with extreme accuracy.
Sailors are using this watch for nautical navigation and time keeping.
Engineers use it to measure machine production times.
Even Television producers, and other professionals in many fields use the Speedmaster to measure time.

Omega watches have been especially produced for those whom accuracy is of the utmost importance. They are worn on the wrists of the world’s top professionals and are tested daily right to the edge of their capability. You would agree that the people who took this watch all the way to the moon are amongst the best "watch testers" out there…

And what does all of this means to you? It means that all of the above is true for each watch that has been developed by, and carries the brand name OMEGA. No matter what your specific needs might be.

One should remember that the Omega Speedmaster series which was actually designed for sports use, contains the same perfect calibre that can be found in each of the Apollo astronauts’ watches, and each and every one of them is suited for any man, on any type of mission.

When you visit you local OMEGA retailer (who is probably one of the most respected in your town) you will be able to view the entire OMEGA watch line which are second to non when it comes to accuracy and reliability. The Apollo astronauts have tested it for you…

OMEGA. First in space, first on the moon, first everywhere.
