My news arrival

Hmm I never liked a datejust at all ever. I thought it's watch for older people. However, first time ever I started to like a Datejust. Weird...Especially on This black face on a strap.

Beautiful pics btw.

Thanks for the help! My choices were directly affected by all the nice feedback.

I ended up with a WG 1803 with some sort of brushed silver dial, like this one:

(not the actual watch)

Also, got intrigued by grey dials, so picked me up one of these vintage Seiko World Time in grey:

(not the actual watch)

Will post pics when they arrive.

That is an excellent PICK !!!

WG 1803 "under the radar " Rolex .....

Now that you picked a monotone watch....

Next step will be to move up to a 40 mm and nd one that might come up on RADAR !

Your mileage may very !

Good Hunting

Based on your collection, I don't think you need a DJ either... But, if you're gonna do it If say go for a red date! They're stunning and spice things up a bit.

This is a great post! If I had to travel with only 1 watch I think it would take so long to choose that I'd miss my flight and skip the trip. I like where you're going with all of the different style watches to build your collection since this helps solve our issue of having just 1 watch. I think us watch "geeks" are always on the prowl to find that perfect 1 watch that fits for every occasion!.

OK final update on this thread:

- the 1803 I bought got lost in the mail 🙁
- so I got another 1803, not as nice but quite old (1959-1960) tell me how I did?

@ WatchVaultNYC
Your 1803 "doorstop" dial displays nice ageing/patina.
If you're happy with the acquisition, then you did well.
