Hello dear forum members!

As I'm almost graduating, I'm planning my first "real" watch purchase. I've alwas loved vintage Omegas and am considering the following watch. Price is 400 usd and service history is unknown.

Any red flags? While it's not really visible, the "swiss made" on the bottom of the last picture looks off.

Size is 34,5 x 40,5 mm

Many many thanks,
Ruben D.

This would be one to avoid as it has a refinished dial.

Black dialed Omegas are a minefield as 98% of them are refinished.

Hi Ruben and congrats on your coming graduation.

Edit: was beaten by X350 and wanted to say it is a redial...

Good luck on your further hunt though. If I may recommend, there are always good deals here in the sales section of the forum.

Best,

Rudi

Not only the repainted dial, but the crown may be a East Asian product

Thank you guys.

I'll skip this one.

It could help me though, if someone could explain how this specific piece could be identified as repainted?

Countless hours of research, looking at original and repainted dials.

In this case the font is wrong and far too thick, plus the minute hash marks aren't evenly spaced.
