I just picked up my first "real" watch, a BNIB Seamaster 300M Diver from one of the forum dealers here. I already have the bug to add more watches (something more sporty or dressy), but thought it might make sense to get a couple different straps (maybe NATO or leather). Its the blue version.
I have an Isofrane strap that I use occasionally on my SMP300. http://www.isofrane.com/testimonials.htm
For some reason, pretty much anything but the Seamaster Pro bracelet looks a bit weird on this watch. I have a black version (aluminium bezel, wavy dial), and have found that the only other option that suits the watch are NATOs, which I have used frequently. I haven't tried a rubber strap, though, and from the photos I've seen of the Pro with the Omega rubber strap, it's a good match too.
I had a similar issue. ( Sold my smp a few months ago) I did manage a good look woth Nato and with a Kevlar red stitched strap that I still use on my PO
I put mine on the Omega NATO strap for the summer ... I liked it a lot, and it got quite a bit of notice. I have since put it back on the original bracelet, but I think the NATO may find its way onto my SM300 MC next summer.
I put a Hirsch Performance strap--a red Robby--on my black SMPc. It works well with the red accents on the dial.
It's Miltat Kevlar red stitching. around $80 There are several brands around, just Google Kevlar watch straps and a few show up
Thanks for all of the replies. Some really good ideas. It's funny how I really like the blue dial on the traditional bracelet but the black seems to be more versatile when it comes to changing straps.
I'm a fan of this look as well. I remember there were issues with flaking on the strap edges (happened to me), so I don't know if this is still something to be concerned about. I'd also recommend the double-ridged OEM rubber with butterfly deployant clasp. Sailcloth is a nice option as well, but I don't have any pics of it anymore. Lastly, shark skin looks great and is usually super comfortable. I have this on my SMP Non-AC and love it:
I think I wrote earlier on a wrong thread, gotta clean it off.. Some option: first original, then Mesh from Strapcone and a Zuludiver leather nato. Kind of like them all but usually I have the Mesh on it.
My SMP chrono on a semi padded blue leather with white stitching. I think it really sets this watch off.
Yeap, pretty nice quality and very comfortable. This on: http://www.strapcode.com/store/19mm...-chamfer-diver-clasp-p-3110.html#.VmrTx14pp2E
