Thanks Aroxx, I picked the picture at random, did not know they had a 18mm black and orange strap. I had given up the search for one. Ordering...

The Tropic looks good to me. CNS makes an inexpensive 19mm version that is perfectly good. Or you can buy an actual Tropicstrap version for a lot more.

And a couple of notes about rubber straps.
- Do not use an 18mm strap for a watch that needs a 19mm strap. That looks awful.
- Use rubber, not silicone. Silicone straps are terrible.

A dive watch needs a dive strap, so a rubber tropic or a bracelet, in 19mm as @Dan S states 馃憤

Awesome! I hope you like it.

I鈥檓 not sure what to call this watch. It has strong dive watch vibes but is it a dive watch? I鈥檓 using the bezel as a second time zone function.

Thanks, I鈥檒l take a look at CNS and good to know about silicon. I definitely wouldn鈥檛 get an ill fitting two piece strap. For some reason I can handle a NATO that鈥檚 1mm too big or small but with two piece straps it just doesn鈥檛 work.

Unfortunately, I only have one other 19mm watch and it鈥檚 my C-case Constellation so I won鈥檛 really be able to share straps on those two. I know somebody will tell me I just need to buy more 19mm lug watches. 馃榿

Not just somebody ... me. Check out some vintage Seiko divers, including the 62MAS, 6105-8000/9, etc. You will have plenty of need for 19mm straps. 馃憤

I've been buying a bunch of different Seiko 5126s lately and I've come to the conclusion that I don't own nearly enough 19mm straps. About to place a couple orders from Uncle Seiko and Forstner to rectify this. 馃榿

Sorry for the thread drift, but what I reeeeally need is some deadstock 19mm Seiko 5 sports bracelets... but in the meantime, I'll have to make do with some tropic strap recreations and such.

I鈥檓 too cheap. I鈥檇 buy one strap to swap between all of those.

Two mesh votes is interesting. It wasn't really what I had in mind I just tried it out when I saw that extra bracelet laying around. I think it looks pretty good I'm just not sure I love it. Maybe because I see this as a utilitarian "beater" watch and the mesh is a bit fancy
Perhaps a looser mesh would look more appropriate. Very inexpensive "shark" mesh bracelets can be found to test out the look before spending more on a nicer quality one.

But I agree that a black tropic strap would look great.

I finally ordered a new strap for the Elgin. Went with a tropic from Uncle Seiko. Very comfortable and I think suits the watch well. Thanks for all of the suggestions!

I used to have this band on my Breitling A13356 and loved it. Although I think it would look even better on your watch. On the pricey side but lasts a very long time.

Edit: I thought it was available in 19mm but just read it only comes in 20, 22 and 24mm.

I had this strap on my Kon-Tiki 1973, I can heartily recommend it. A very comfortable and long lasting strap.

Do you recall who made it?
