Just wondering what people like to wear their pie pan Connies on? I have an Omega mesh bracelet (a kind gift from my watchmaker), a 7/9 row Beads of Rice bracelet on the way to me, and an alligator grain strap (actually silicone, I wear through genuine leather very quickly). After reading Desmond's fine articles on straps, bracelets, and buckles, I can't make my mind up. I know the alligator grain is technically the dressiest (even though it's also technically silicone), but what about the mesh and the BOR? Pictures of your own pie pan Connies on various straps/bracelets are also very welcome.
When I am wearing the watch I prefer the leather with deployant to the BOR. For looks the BOR is IMHO much better looking and is original to the watch.
Variety is the spice of life.... Black on SS I prefer the black lizard grain on SS to crocodile I love the 7-row BoR but even at its smallest is too big for my wrists Dark red/brown on pink And the dark brown also looks good on gold
Mine is a '56 and I wear it on a period correct no. 12 sliding buckle bor, however if I can ever find a mid-50's ds&s mesh, well that will be a amazing day!
I used to have the gold capped connie on black vintage black strap but now I just fall in love with the 9 line BOR. Look so nice, make the connie much bigger and very comfortable
Have to agree with @Peemacgee .........did a few strap swaps and black with SS is great and brings out the black dial. Also like the brown with gold idea. Now how did that get in there.......
Friends, thank you all for the photographic inspiration! I think I'll keep it on the BOR bracelet most of the time, dress it up with leather, and dress it down with mesh (from what I understand, mesh is less formal than a bracelet, correct?).
