I'm planning on grabbing a Seiko 5 as a vacation beater watch.
I've always worn either a bracelet or leather band, but I'm considering a canvas strap hoping it might be a bit more comfortable being out in the sun compared to a bracelet or leather.

As I said in another thread, I'm Mr Comfort. Leather tends to feel "sweaty" in the heat and frankly worry about a bracelet in an environment where sweat and sand are coming together though I expect to be at the pool at the house we are renting more than the beach.

You're on vacation! Ignore the time and don't wear a watch. (Heresy, I know.)

But if it's really going to be a beater, why are you worried about a bracelet? Maybe make it a bit looser than usual so there's not as much sweat?

Watch is part of getting dressed and you need to know when you can switch from bloody Mary's to beer or bourbon ;)

Key is comfort. I've never had a nato or canvas strap hate a leather strap in the heat if I'm going to be out for long.
