Strap advice for vintage 2998

I'd like to get a leather strap for my 2998 as an alternative to the bracelet, but I'm torn between black and brown.

I like black in general, but maybe a warmer touch would enhance the vintage lume and dial... what's your vote?

Hey, I believe the combination with an extra colour like brown adds depth and makes the watch look very elegant and versatile. Black would add no further colour and makes the look kind of monochromatic. Again, it is a matter of personal taste.

I am throwing in some fotos from instagram, as I own no Speedy (for now) 😎

I paid no great attention to weather or not these examples were the exact same reference. With your watch, which has vintage lume it would look even better, I believe. You could wear it with almost anything, IMHO.

Agree! Dark brown straps compliment the SS case and black bezel/dial very well IMO.

Brown gets my vote. And, for a 2998, the racing/rally style strap would be my preference, but any vintage style rugged strap will work, IMO.

I’ve tried a number of strap types, but I don’t care for straps on my straight lug Speedmasters. Just doesn’t look or feel right to me.

I use Omega BOR bracelets.

They are very comfortable.
