thanks but i'll just get it assessed by Omega. I think people taking random guesses won't be that helpful. its clearly not a common dial so leave it to the manufacturer to work it out. Thanks again.

The serial number will allow me to look up the reference number, so we can see if this is some special dial, or just a dial that has been modified. The is exactly what Omega is going to do, and I’ll do it for free...

@seikofan21 , this is a strange thread!

In your first post you said you’d appreciate any thoughts, but now you’re turning down help from an Omega certified watchmaker with access to their databases.

You seemed to get the watch disassembled to take the dial photos pretty quickly. I think you either know a lot more about it than you’re saying, you’re reckless in stripping down an heirloom without the knowledge and skills required, or you’re testing the market for something a bit shady.

I don’t think a single member of this forum has looked at the photos of your watch and thought it’s an unmolested watch in the same state it left the Omega factory, but Archer has given you the opportunity to find out for certain, and you’ve refused.

Odd, just odd.

I'm not new to watches. I have been collecting seikos for many years and the odd swiss watch here and there. Plenty of watchmakers I know around the place so got a local trusted watchmaker to open up and take a look. The initial reaction made me think it was a fake but the watchmaker seems to think the dial is legit. He also thinks the hands look okay.

I'll send Archer the serial but Omega does it for free here too. Hey Archer, what do you mean by "modified" dial?

It means altered/changed/tweaked/painted etc by a third party after it was made/sold by Omega.

thanks for the replies all. The problem with taking pics using the latest iphone is it actually makes the printing look like crayon drawing...
I've noticed that as well. .5X and 3X are sharp but 1X and 2X are not.

He won't like that answer. I haven't received the serial number either...not terribly surprised.
