    Hi!
Recently I discovered a totally different omega geneve, and it seems very rare. I found an offer, somewhere between 600-700 Euro ... The major difference is that it has arabic dial numbers - Which I really like.

Omega Geneve 135.070 with cal.601 from 1970. I'm very curious and I'm not sure if this is original or a fake, or a movement in another case/watch or something else…
Please let me know your opinion and advice…
    Thank you very much!

Please help me with an answer or an opinion at least ... I'm thinking of buying this watch, and I'm not sure if I'm making a big mistake or a big deal. I'm not a collector ... maybe in the future. I just want to buy this watch to personally wear it.

Hi Bigu and welcome to OF.

Here are other 135.070 to compare with...

    https://www.google.de/search?biw=1536&bih=760&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=ONldWoTeC4_9kwWwz4bQCQ&q=omega 135.070&oq=omega 135.070&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i19k1.7335.7335.0.7807.1.1.0.0.0.0.148.148.0j1.1.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.1.147....0.Blg8PqQzkvs

Dial looks good so far, I don't think it would be useful to make strong efforts to repaint a handwinding Geneve dial in that good quality.

    Wouldn't be economically reasonable.

How much is the asking price?

    Looks quite expensive

It says the watch is out of stock.

Not sure if it is original or not - looks ok at a glance

I searched a lot on the internet. I did my research. I have seen only the standard dial. No Arabic numerals ... That's why I ask here for some help. The offer I have is offline, from a person ... it's not exactly this watch. But it's the same, and a bit more worn out. I probably will be able to buy it with 600 Euro, maybe less.

Sorry, thanks for pointing out your own research...

I'm still thinking "Dial looks good so far, I don't think it would be useful to make strong efforts to repaint a handwinding Geneve dial in that good quality. Wouldn't be economically reasonable."

Thanks a lot for your answer! But my big issue is whether this type of watch is original and has ever been made. And it's not a fake or a combination of dial / case / movement ...

    Your are welcome.

Being not very familiar with Geneves I hope someone with better knowledge will come back to you

Thanks a lot for the reply! I hope and still waiting opinions for this type of watch ... If it is a watch that was made as it looks, with serial case , move and arabic dial, like in this pictures.

I've already seen. But if you take a closer look at the google photo from that link, the first clock on the left looks the same as the one in my post. But he has different hands. Much thinner. The hands from the last clock on the right are the ones in my post. But the numbers and the type of watch are different. No geneve ...

I think that watch looks fine. I briefly looked into the background of the arab dial variants like this when I got the gold watch below. It seems that in the main, watches like this were made with stick indices but in certain markets an arab number dial was an option. I saw it said that the UK was one such market where the Arab variants were optional. Here is one such, a 131.25016 9K gold case mode bearing UK hallmarks, this would normally not have Arab numbers:

And I also had the date version of the Geneva you show (a 136.070) with the more common stick indices:

Thank you! I hope ... Because I intend to buy this type of watch, and I have some emotions and I was not sure if Omega made this model.
Can you tell me what you think is the value of this type of watch ... a little more used than the ones in the pictures.

The value is what you're willing to spend for it.

The dial you've shown is correct but if this isn't the actual one you're considering you should post pictures of that one.

Dial looks fine. Case is over-polished though.

Nice watch but I would want it at more like £250-400 personally (€300-450). It is pretty and quite rare but not worth big money IMO as it looks to have been polished and has visible corrosion patina on the hands. Not certain that crown is right either.
