Is it white gold? I see what I think is an import hallmark on the top left lug.

Unfortunately not, a simple little "staybrite" number. But the watch did come from Portugal:)

I resist the urge to agree that the new dial be referred to as "waffle".

Quite obvious to me that it's a Clous de Paris dial, sometimes called hobnail, or "hobbie" to some.

The pyramid shape is quite evident on the first dial and I think the CdP term is much more elegant than a reference to something that is nothing more than donut dough in a fancy shape.

The dial of the second watch with the sunken pyramids could somewhat replicate the surface of a waffle iron, albeit one only fit for pixies or other little folk.

    My opinion of course.

    Anyway, enough "waffling on".

Now back to my 12YO Lagavulin.

I thought this post would trigger "the waffle/woffle force".

This arrived today. Was meant to arrive yesterday along with the other but alas... No where near as photogenic as the other two, will wait for the weekend and try in better light.
