Steel on new seamaster

I recently purchased a omega seamaster and I seem to get scratched very easily on the side of the bracelet.

I just don't understand as I'm very careful with it. I'm just wondering about the steel quality as I have an old tag formula 1 watch approx 8 years old with no scratches on the side and I've worn it more. Or is the steel finer on the omega making it more susceptible? I just dont t get it !

I fully realise that scratches are an occurrence but not to this extent and for the reasons above.

I have the same watch that i purchased recently too. My bracelet is covered in swirl marks and little scratches as is the clasp. It's no big deal, it happens. When you send it off for servicing Omega will polish it back while it's there. Or you could polish it yourself. I don't mind it on mine, it's the watch itself which i worry about.. 😀

I now have a NATO strap though.

Green scotch brite pad on the clasp. Just rub in one direction only. Do my 300m about one a month. No scratches.

its due to the high polish finishing on the side of the links, you can easily brush out the polish and you're good to go.

I cherish the scratches. I put them on my watch and will wear them with pride. After all, it's a watch that was made to be worn.

i use polish for my scratches

Why?

Green scotch brite pad on the clasp.

Why?

I mean, in the end, the watch will scratch again and you'll just ruin the finish...
But feel free..... 🍿

This. Not always on purpose... I was helping change a cam belt in 2009, slipped using the wrong tool and put a dent in the bezel of my Speedmaster. Easily changed out, but it's nice to have an ever present reminder not to do dumb stuff twice. 😉

Yep it will as its 'only' 316 steel apose to 904 on Rolex but surface layer scratches you cant see unless you hold it close but you can for sure get it polished out to look completly new. I was at an AD who got their watchman to do that came down looking like new. Best advise, wear and enjoy then maybe once a year get it polished. rinse and repeat.

Love it! This is how a tool watch should look.

What about Tag, what do they use as my omega has more scratches in 3 months than the tag on 8 years !

Polish are equally as good as Lithuanians, although many prefer to use an AD.
Just saying'.

That's gotta be jam, cos jelly don't jiggle like that!

A wise man once told me, use the power of the grey side (of the eraser).
Works a treat on my ti. watches.
