Today I'm listing this charming 1940's Angelus Chronodato for sale. The triple date Chronodato model was introduced by Angelus in 1942 and for me has been one of those 'must have owned' models. So much good to be had in this complicated yet relatively affordable and contemporarily sized watch.

The dial has developed an attractive soft patina which combined with the radium filled arabics, syringe hands, and red detailing oozes charm on the wrist.

The steel case is in fine shape and was one of the reasons I bought this watch, a really nice 38mm chunky size with great lugs. The condition is really very good, sharp with the original finish to see. The 239K seral number on the case back dates this one to around 1947.

The Chronodato's are running an Angelus calibre 217, which is an in-house 17 jewel hand wound column wheel movement with triple date function and chronograph. The movement is winding. setting and running very well. The timekeeping is good, the chrono works as it should and all date functions and pushers are operating correctly and as they should. The watch has not been serviced whilst in my ownership of 3 or 4 years.

Coming in principle head only, although I can fit a matching black or brown strap if so desired.

I am surprised this is still around. This is an awesome watch in the perfect size. Also the fact that it is stainless is a huge plus - the gold filled versions tend to wear through. I would be all over this if I didn't have one already.
