Hi folks,

I would appreciate your opinion on this Polerouter.

According to the seller it "works well and keeps time", whatever that means.
Serial no is 177xxxx, so it should be a 1955-56 bumper movement.
Catalogue no is S20214 - 4, which also seems consistent.
What keeps me off this catch is:
1: Non-original crown, as far as I can see. It is not signed and seems too thick.
2: Rather large engraving on the back, but maybe that's what you have to live with in the vintage world.
3: The crown looks to be mounted at an angle. Could the axle be bent, or is there some other damage?

Asking price is approx 500 USD.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Looks pretty nice from what I can see on my phone. Have you got other pics? Are the lume dots out of synch with chapter ring markers or is it just the angle?

Yes, I noticed the angle of the dial just as I had posted.
Looks like it is twisted a fraction of a degree.
Please check the other images.
But, what about the crown, that looks to be on a bent axle?
You can only see it the image inmy first post.

It looks to me like the luminous dots on the dial, and the luminous fill in the hands, have all been replaced. If so, that would be unfortunate. I agree that the non-orginal crown and the bent configuration of the crown are issues. You could eventually find a replacement crown, though it would not be easy, and get the bend repaired. I like the case back with the engraving. That's the best part of the watch ;-). I think this is not a $500 Polerouter, although these are going up in value, so some day maybe.
