This looks like it could be going with not too much time and money sunk into it. I don't see any red flags in what I'm seeing but I'm not a rolex guy so i could be over looking something important. Is there any good reason I should pass this one up? Thanks for any input toy guys can give me. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/153217953022
It's a stunner but there's no denying there's a lot of work to be done. If you have the expertise, it may be a fun project
I'm not sure there's much upside. As @redpcar mentioned, these pieces are not particularly desirable even when running and in good condition, because of the size, so you could probably get a nice one in running condition for not much more than $1k usd. The hands look wrong, the case is really beat up, and the dial is stained. The cost of repairing the movement is unknown. So even if you get it running, it's still not going to be very attractive.
I didn't go for it. I am still keeping an eye on old Speedkings though, looking for one I like and trying to get better educated.
