squale carbon vs doxa carbon

the pricing on these 2 really show you the squeeze doxa is putting on you. ..aprox 1300 to 5000 for not that much more of a watch.

i have to say both are cool looking. i won't be a player at 5k for the doxa, but maybe they will have a sale which would bring it down to 3k. (even that price is ambitious) i can't imagine them selling that many, unless you're an extreme fanboy, and most doxa collectors are extreme fanboys and are scoffing at the money grab.

squale seems like a big watch, pretty thick, but most say they wear smaller.. i like the dlc touches, but i don't know long term how i feel about the red/black carbon case with markers that look pinkish..it has captured my attention though. and it does look like damascus steel with the layers..

both are LE

I think I'd be waiting for Squale to bring out a few different versions if I was keen on a carbon watch.
All of your concerns seem very valid and I expect the honeymoon period would be very short lived.

Yes, the aesthetics when view from the side leave much to be desired. Not into a red-zebra pattern on my wrist.

i'm talking myself into believing it's not this colorful and the photos are manipulated glam shots. which may or may not be true

That square is hideous. The Doxa wins the beauty contest easily. Price is another question...

it looks more muted than the glam pic.

So what, in your opinion, does that do for the pink-ish markers?

An Instagram post from a few hours ago. Less than glamorous to my eyes.

I'm still trying to talk myself out of chasing the Squale Ceramica pepsi/GMT clone that I only discovered this week, so not trying to be confrontational just for the sake of it 😉

Don't know whether this is a real world dial/hands option.
Squale seem to have multiple differences from batch to batch under the same name/code of many of their offerings.

I kept thinking of whenever anyone tried to hypnotize Batman or Robin in the Adam West tv shows!

I prefer the Davosa implementation of this but God knows what happened to them as not seen anything at all since they were announced at Basel last year.
