Spring bars

Sorry if this has been covered, I’ve looked but haven’t found any definitive answers. I just purchased a Speed Master Racing 44mm ref # 329.30.44.51.04.001 with the stainless steel bracelet. I wanted a sportier black strap for normal day to day wear and be able to put the stainless bracelet for more formal occasions. I purchased the DSOTM cordura strap and Omega stainless deployment clasp. My question is about the spring bars, so do I need a different set for the cordura strap that are slightly thicker (read that in one of the threads)? If so a reference number would be greatly appreciated. If not, would a second set of the ones in the stainless bracelet be recommended to have for each strap? Reference number for those would be appreciated as well.

the bracelet of your Racing with 21mm lugwidth uses the 068ST2208 springbars you'll need the 068ST2209 for a strap.

Thank you for the information and the ref #’s.

Ok, so I feel like I’ve done my due diligence to ensure I got all the right parts to make this work, however I was at the Omega Boutique today picking up the deployment clasp and was going to have them put the strap on my watch and the tech in the back couldn’t get the strap to fit on one side. He was able to get it on the one side but not the other, even tried a few different spring bars and still no dice, any help would be appreciated.

He said he tried the ones in the bracelet as well as a set they had, he didn’t specify exactly which ones of theirs he tried.

I assume those would be the 2208's, strange both didn't work.

Yeah I’m pretty sure the ones in the bracelet are 2208’s. I’m kinda miffed as to why it doesn’t work, only thing I can think is maybe it just doesn’t fit as well as a strap specifically meant for this watch and didn’t want to force it? I’m pretty sure others have used this same setup before on this watch.

I don't think the strap is the cause, just can't understand why it wouldn't fit.

I’m lost too, if it was some random guy at a watch repair place it would be one thing but this was at the boutique, so I’m stumped.

What side didn't fit?

The longer side if I recall correctly which would be the strap on the top side of the watch, maybe I have it mixed up but it was most assuredly the longer strap that didn’t fit.

The longer side with the strap holes is normally on the 6 o' clock side. Are both exactly 21mm?

I don’t have a digital tool to measure with.

Yes I would say so, kinda contoured the same way the watch face is.

Maybe the springbars for the DSOTM are different for this strap and would work?

That could be a possibility, any idea where one might look for them?

Ask the guy at the OB to look up the DSOTM to check on which springbars it comes factory fitted.

Just called up there and the tech wasn’t there so the guy I spoke with said to call back tomorrow, so for now I guess I wait.
