Good morning OF,

Wondering what type of spring bars do you use on your gold watches? Are you afraid of steel eating into the softer gold?

Cheers,
Mike

Just be sure the tips are the correct size for the holes and steel is just fine.

When you think about it soft spring bars would be about as effective as a fart in a cyclone

Omega used solid gold springbars on both 1948 Centenary models. My Ref. 2499 came with these.

If you look closely, you can see them here. I took them off, mainly because I wasn’t comfortable with 75 year old springbars holding the band in place. The steel ones work just fine, and they don’t need to be the expensive ones from Omega either.
