Saw a gentleman with a watch at the supermarket today, and couldn't help but notice it was a Speedy. Struck up a conversation with him, and took a picture. He bought it in Kuwait in 1968 for the princely sum of 80 pounds back then whilst he was a mechanic, and later used it during flight training. Originally he thought it was worth $1000, and he was pleasantly surprised when I told him the DON was worth a few times that at least Said he was going to leave it to his nephew in his will. Now that would be a true uncle's watch!
That's a great spot! Nice to meet a true "first owner" Are you sure that a bezel that rough would command at least $2000? Good thing I'm not chasing vintage Speedmasters!
