Just got this in today. 7402 invoiced to Sweden in 1965. Checks a ton of boxes for me:

    1. Excellent manual wind movement
    2. Stainless
    3. ~36mm but looks larger in person
    4. Timeless design

All for a cost somewhere near an SKX007. Just an absolutely phenomenal value.

And a family photo just for kicks:

Nice find! The Sport Chief was for the Scandinavian market only:thumbsup:

I bet it houses a beautiful 30L movement inside.

It does! 30Ls are taking over my collection. It’s just such a damn fine movement and they are still readily available at great values.

Very nice! That predates most of mine, except for this special little guy.

@ulackfocus, do you know if they made an oversized version of the Sport Chief? I don’t have a set of calipers, but this example certainly looks (size wise) more like my 38mm than the 36mm Flagship.

I had to go price-check an SKX007. This one came to me yesterday but I paid a little more than the Seiko would have cost. Twice as much, in fact ... and there's still a service to factor in.

After all these years of collecting, it's only my second Longines and both of them have come to me this month. The other, a Silver Arrow, is already at the Spa.

Good looking Ultra-Chron. I still haven’t added one of those to the collection. I can imagine the second hand sweep on that is mesmerizing.

Let’s see the silver arrow! Fairly uncommon reference and they usually are outfitted with great minute markers.

Once upon a time I figured out how to add a video here ... but I don't seem able to from my phone? The sweep is unbelievable on the Ultra Chron. I made a slow motion recording of it and you still can't see the hand stutter. It's on my IG account, but I can't link to that from here either (it must be age related technophobia).

The Silver Arrow, though, I can easily share ...

Well @ulackfocus doesn't believe Sport Chiefs exist (legitimately). Right?

I think he just had previously stated that they tend to be faked to add additional value to a generic 30L. I’ve got it direct from the wonderful Longines heritage department (responded to me within 24 hours) that this is a Sport Chief:

    Love it! Love vintage Longines!

The 30L movement seems to be bulletproof in terms of accuracy and reliability.

Nice watch! But no, there is no widespread faking of Sport Chiefs, as there is no great demand for them.
