Good god! I’d rather buy a simple Moonphase, have a watchmaker remove the dial, give it to my 3 year old niece with some fancy markers and fake gems and have her bling it up for about $5. It would look about as good to me, I could give her 6 or 7 to do for that price.

Bedazzle it!

After Omega showed us the BaselWorld 2018 novelties that you’ve all seen by now, it was time for them to bring out the big guns and show three very exclusive Speedmaster Moonphase watches. In platinum.Weighing about half a kilogram each, these new platinum Speedmaster Moonphase models are not for the faint-hearted. For this week’s Speedy […]

Visit Speedy Tuesday - Three New Platinum Speedmaster Moonphase Watches to read the full article.
I’m more interested in seeing the gold seamaster reissue referred to in your article.

Nicely executed, beautiful to behold, but how shall i say it meaningless perhaps? The average potential customer for a Speedmaster would never ever buy such a jewelry execution. Too flashy and alternative wise money may buy many goodies. And why unlimited? It should have been up to 20/30 pcs if they want to have these sold quickly.

I'm weeping a little over the mismatched times, dates and moon phase settings. OK, I'll admit it. I'm sobbing.

You've never been to Baselworld, right? You get half an hour to shoot 150 watches.

From what I understood they already sold way more than those numbers. I agree with many here, it is not the cup of tea for the Moonwatch collectors. But seeing them in the flesh, trying them on... I was hooked on the green one. However, CHF77K never in a life time that I can afford that on a watch (nor do I want to, tbh).

Can I have one fitted with the Speedy Tuesday dial and hands please? I have no idea if Omega already do this but is there an opportunity for them to make bespoke watches rather than leave it to Bamford etc?

Never heard of it, but seriously doubt . If they did, it would enormously expensive.

I was hoping they'd charge me £4,200 or so. That would be nice.

Actually I'm not interested in the ST but I wonder if there's a thread on your perfect custom Omega. I think mine would be a Big Blue dial, hands and bezel in/on a Speedy Mk2 or Pro case. I once rested a Heuer Autavia bezel on a Heuer Montreal and it looked superb. Missed opportunity!

I'll order the 3 now and by the time they get them out to market(Trilogy anyone) I should be able to have saved the necessary funds.

Half a kilo?....

I've just skipped right past the watch and have now fastened a 16 oz Costco chicken breast to my wrist. It weighs about the same and if I get hungry I can just take a bite off of it.

IMHO Tachometer has a new meaning... Tacky-meter is off the charts

Whilst in Dubai mall Omega Boutique several years ago (2013) there was a rather well off person that had just ordered two watches custom colours and was being shown a range of red colours he could choose. He was getting a PO in red and black not orange and he agreed to pay $800 extra just for a custom made red strap with stainless wire stitching. As chatting to the manager shortly after as he came to the sales person that was showing me a few things it can be done and it was going to cost a extra $4-8k per watch and $800 for the straps and take 3 months.
Very regular in Dubai and Qatar it was mentioned
