Yea the discount varies but at the higher end 20%. This is further reinforced by the private watch market which has sales that are typically 5-20% below what you might see on C24 depending on the watch.

The other issue is on c24 a fair proportion is where the dealer doesn’t even have the watch and is just putting up watches with prices for which they will then source. And in these scenarios typically the price is quite inflated.

Ahh, thanks. That makes a lot of sense, especially that last bit.

They really should do something about it - does itself a dis-service tbh.

Have sourced a hard to find LE divers watch through a C24 dealer and haggled a bit. Sale was flawless and I found a watch I was having a hard time finding as a full set. Even came fully serviced which worked in my favour $$s wise.

Funny as the dealer has mixed reviews and can be way overpriced for vintage watches.

So there is no rule that describes C24 as it’s like a EBay with 80% dealers. ( problem is that most private sellers want dealer prices )

Hello everyone!

Thought that I would ask for some advice or tips as I have been hunting for a Speedy Tuesday for a hot minute.

I am trying to find number 2012/2012. I have been trying ebay, watch sites etc. Any places that you all might be able to suggest?

Firstly I have to say that Tuesday's are truly the best day of the work week, I love myself a speedy Tuesday! I would reccomend you just keep looking unfortunately. It takes time to get that perfect watch... I was reading a lot on Speedmasters lately and I am starting to become obsessed with them so I might be on the hunt with you! I think one that I am looking for would be the Snoopy Speedy. This article said "Among those that are extremely hot targets for collectors are the various Silver Snoopy Speedmaster". https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-blog/buying-guides/omega-speedmaster-best-investment-watches.html . I am a sucker for collectible pieces and I am even more a sucker for snoopy, so I must have this! Good luck on your hunt my friend, I know I will need it!

Are you still looking for that particular number, 2012? If so, the chances are about zero that you will be successful. Most likely the owner of that particular number isn't even aware of Omega Forums or of your desire for that number. And we still don't know if it is the ST1 or ST2 you are searching for.

Anybody else thinking when we will hear something from OP, I'm putting my money on July 2025/👎
Well, he made a monkey out of you, OP popped up here after only 18 months.

Shouldn't his chances be 1 in 2012 every time that particular model shows up for sale? But then if you think in terms of serial numbers, his chances are down to 1 in about 100 million that an Omega watch that becomes available for sale is the one. It's a hunt that keeps you busy.

That assumes there is an equal chance of every ST number possibly coming up for sale. Some numbers will never show up as the owner will keep it for life and then give it to a son/daughter or relative when he dies. It may never come to the general market where it would be available to the public. Therefore, his odds for no. 2012 is tiny.

Great point. And for all we know Omega may have kept number 2012 for the museum...
