I'm curious what a black enamel dial would look like compared to a standard Speedy dial.
The best way I can to describe it is that it is really black. While the standard Speedmaster is kinda black, in some angles it does have a greyish hue to it, this in the other hand is just pure black which is awesome and does look like a mirror in some angles, and in other angles with good lighting you can see the enamel texture show a little. The combination of the enamel dial, high horology movement, vintage logos, 13mm thickness only and the bonus of a WR 100 just makes this such a special watch in my opinion.
4 years later, do you still have and love this speedy? Your point is always my challenge with the 3861, in the mirror it looks jet black and I love it but then I go to read the time and it looks charcoal or concrete gray. The 321 is galvanized so I think it looks less gray, but I believe it may sit taller like the FIOS which I don’t love.
In theory, I’ve always loved the idea of a speedy that had the absolute and luxury darkness of a submariner dial.
