I just picked it up along with a 1171/633 set. I'll post another pic when I get the bracelet fitted. Ok just fitted the 1171. Here is the before and after. The bracelet goes well with the watch, I think.

Compared to the first ST1, I must say the overall management of production and delivery of the ST2 is much better. I waited nearly a year for the ST1 compared to only a month for the ST2.

I think they had them in production already, but just opened up the reservations a bit later in the year this time

Quick check; I've ordered 1171/633 bracelet from OB. Do the endlinks need any filing, or do they fit perfect on the ST2 (without leaving marks or scuffs when removal in the future?). Thanks in advance!

In the meantime, still looking for the perfect leather strap for mine!

I had to file the sides of end links slightly to get them to fit, but once it slipped on it was a perfect snug fit against the back of the lugs. I polished the filed edges smooth to remove sharp angles that could scratch the lugs. I did not have to squeeze or stretch them at all. One tip though, I had to use slightly shorter pins than the ones used for the strap. The pins have to be able to compress flush with the end links in order to slide it on. The stock pins were too long and do not fit flush so I could not get one side of the pin into the hole because the end links have no give side to side.

If you are careful you will not have any marks on the back of the lugs from removing the pins to change between strap and bracelet. But I suspect after prolonged use of the bracelet you will eventually get some marks on the inside of the lugs (that are not visible externally while the bracelet is on) just from metal to metal contact between the end links and lugs.

Thanks for the very useful information indeed. I plan to wear mine, and my biggest fear is mucking this up. On the bright side, its only the end links (which are cheaper to replace than say, a whole bracelet). Still, this will be a journey. Or, I will ask for help from someone more competent than myself! Great tip on the shorter pins; where did you get yours?

My dealer gave them to me free with the 1171/633 I bought from him. I picked up the watch there too (OB in San Francisco, great place). I didn't realize how important this was until I tried installing the bracelet.

Make sure the pins snap into the holes on both sides of the lugs because if only one side goes on it still stays in place and it seems like it's fine but it it will not hold.

It鈥檚 probably been mentioned on here already but is the 1171 significantly cheaper that the current bracelet (from an OB)?

After living with it for 24hrs, I like it even more now. The red/orange adds visual interest, yet is still very discrete. Only an enthusiast will understand the significance of the coloration, and thats fine with me. The "vintage" lume is very close to my 1992's tritium patina - the best match i've seen so far, and better than my 60th anniversary Speedy.

Just picked mine up from OB today, and I am super duper happy. Had the swap changed out from NATO to leather. Now, I am on the hunt for a similar style leather strap, but in brown or dark tan.

Agreed, Ultraman seems to love the camera. I rarely felt the ST1 photographed well but exceptional photography from Of members aside I just think this one looks amazing in the majority of pics. Can't wait to see it in real life.
