Haha, I noticed that but that logo is always completely random so if it's the correct angle it's pure luck.
One would think that an extra 1.5 seconds of added attention to detail during final assembly wound't make such a big dent in the overall bottom line of Omega...
Why not install the Applied logo on the dial upside down as well? 😎

It’s what the Swiss pride themselves on, attention to detail. Apparently, Omega didn’t get memo!

Don't get me started on the case back on the ST1 lol.

Give it time, I’m sure you’ll come to love the blob like the rest of us! 😀

I just keep thinking it would be so much better without xD

Not saying I agree with it, but just the way it's always been.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think he meant there could’ve been more effort put into the caseback. Instead of a simple “#SpeedyTuesday” with limited edition number engraving, maybe an Ultraman face or Beta Capsule? I would’ve liked it a lot more as opposed to the standard NASA inscription. Would’ve made ST2 a lot more unique with some character. Not saying the watch isn’t unique enough... just food for thought.

Yeah a colorful graphic like on the back of a blue Snoopy or Gemini 4 would have been nice.

Correct me if I’m wrong; Omega promised a properly aligned screwed case back with straight writing on it from lug to lug. But they delivered the normal case back randomly screwed with writing facing any direction from lug to lug.

It also had other quality issues like missing lumes on indices in some watches etc etc. There is a thread here relating to such issues.

That wording was from Robert-Jan in the first "unofficial" announcement, on Fratello but it was quickly amended as something like this is extremely difficult if not impossible to do. The Speedy Tuesday was released around the same time as Omega's new Naiad Lock system for the Planet Ocean dive watches, which does offer that capability, and it's likely RJ got that mixed up in the moment. It's not a quality issue

You may be right. I don’t know much about that. Yes I read in the article written by RJB.

You are right .I was referring to the aligned case back. If they could do it for the railmaster standard release, then it should also be the case for the special Speedmasters.

The Omega logo on the Crystal is upside down... ::facepalm1::

Does it really irk you guys that much ?
Does it annoy you when the emblems on your wheel rims are all not at the same rotation when you park. ?

Your not buying hand made watches worth 10x the price.
These are mass produced watches from a middle tier manufacturer. Like Rolex more machines instead of people are used every year.

Mass produced? This is a limited run at a premium price....I beg the differ.

With over 2,000, I suspect every piece of them is mass-produced, and assembly likely takes place right next to/ with thousands of 'regular' speedmasters, etc. The only thing hand-done on each is likely the LE #.

It’s the perception that these are not your average ordinary Speedsters, hence the premium price. What’s abundantly clear is that preception does not equal reality. Not a knock on the watch, but do find these small ‘misses’ annoying.

Part of the premium price goes to designing the new dial, etc. and having them manufactured in a relatively small quantity. And for design and manufacturing the packaging and paperwork. The other $1500 of the premium is because.

This concept was stretched to the limits by the #PCA Speedy, which is really just a $8k Racing speedy with a 'custom' strap that doesn't even have a deployant, and a minimal amount of added text on the caseback. In that instance I suspect most of the $4k extra went to party who worked on the design and distribution, and some of PCA. (that said I really like mine, but I wish it has been $3k or so less then it actually cost)

They did get the memo...but the orientation of the logo is not what they make consistent.

What’s abundantly clear is that preception does not equal reality.

Welcome to the watch world...all the big brands rely on perception being much different from reality.

really just a $8k Racing speedy
A racing Speedy... in a ceramic case. Though 100% agree with the nonsense of not making available deployant straps for either the PCA or the Apollo 8 watches. And now Ultraman without a bracelet, when a bracelet is standard on the less expensive Tokyo Olympic specials.

Yes, it wouldn’t hurt the head honchos at Omega reading this thread to at least offer a bracelet to go with the ST2 as a goodwill gesture, would it??🤔
