If ST1 is an indication, prices will initially move up and then settle back down to MSRP. ST1s arent commanding a premium and aren’t exactly highly sought after at this point in their life cycle.

I would not buy this watch on premise of capital appreciation....this is not a Rolex. There will be multiple Speedmasters hitting the market in short order which complicates and diminishes the ‘value’.

Just my 2 cents.
You didn’t answer the question at all😀

I don’t know where you see all these ST1s being sold at RRP but in my experience they are trading presently at about £1000 over list so I think your 2c isn’t worth a fat lot!

RJ stated this morning on FB that deliveries start in August and are to be distributed in chronological order.
Did he happen to mention in what year?

Is it definite that the distribution will be in chronical order?

Chronological order means many things here; it may be as Omega received bookings, as per numerical order that many perceive here or place of booking in alphabetical order or any other chronological order Omega decided to follow in the present case.

Perhaps RJ should again post an explanation to clear our bonafide doubts. That’ll help us survive, at least in theory, till our turn comes in the respective chronological order.

If you bought an ST1 in America and paid 8-9% sales tax then you are into it for $7100 I believe, the asking price for the one that just sold here was $7500 so at best there’s a few hundred bucks in it for Americans

Not a huge premium for ST1 in US. Can call it what you want..... Just look at the sales section before padding yourself on the back.

UK price was £4100 so $5,330 and that included 20% sales tax. I don’t see anything in the Sales Section to worry me too much.

To be fair, that one in the sales section had a noticeable dent in the top right lug.

I mentioned this in another thread, but it is also the dead of the summer right now. In my 10 years of watch trading experience, things usually sell for a little less in the summer and the market is always slower. Watches take longer to sell.

Noticeable if you shove the watch close up to your face ;-) Thanks though.

$7100 USD converted courtesy of Transfer Wise (why anyone would use PP or the bank is beyond me) works out at £5430 so a nice premium if it was the UK.

And currently for those out there who might want to know what others are for sale in USD...

Maybe not in person, but in the photos it's pretty noticeable. Of course I understand you were probably focusing on it so that any buyer wouldn't be surprised by it - which is the right thing to do - but for a new watch being sold in the summer, I think the price realized would probably not be representative of the type in general, is what I meant.

Yes residents of the U.K. get to buy these speedmasters much much cheaper, so there’s an arbitrage there for you lucky Brits.

if you would have a choice and option to buy only 1, which one would you buy? ST#2 or 1957 edition? assuming you are an owner of ST#1 😉

The one that brings you the most joy. As to my choice, I own the ST, the 60th Speedy and have the ST2 reserved. If I could only own two I’d sell the ST2. Wearing the 60th Speedy is an incredible experience. The fact that Omega gave us the opportunity to go back in time to purchase the (almost) original Speedy is too good to be true. It’s the equivalent of Porsche rereleasing a 1973 911 RS or Shelby/Ford rereleasing a’67 427 Cobra. All three icons. Omega did it. Other than the faux lume, the 60th Speedy is perfection. ‘For my taste’ the ST2 just missed the mark. Although, it’s still WAY cool and I can’t wait to wear it.

I agree but I don’t get the hate for the “faux lume”. It’s just a colour choice - I have watches with white lume, green lume, why not yellow lume? I really dig ‘90’s tritium Speedmasters because they all sport beautiful yellow lume. Is that “faux”?

It’s a colour and I like it - “faux” is a mindset.
