Delivery will start in August, not unit by unit. Omega took their measurements based on ST1. The issue there had to due with the dial and case production (especially the latter).

August is not far away...I guess we will will know soon if the SP2 is on schedule!

Not by many 😉
Considering the cartoon started in 1929 😗

A few dials, maybe 300 were set aside, if anecdotal evidence is to be believed, as they featured the DM Rocket transfer on the dial. There are three dates of interests, 1929, 1953, and the date of Herge's death 1983. Take your pick guys...

A fellow Jambo! Welcome

I managed to reserve an ultraman so if you see one at Tynecastle it’s probably on my wrist 😉
Another Jambo here too 👍

Got an Ultraman on reservation. Need to see it in the metal though. My ST1 has made a few trips to tynecastle 😎

Yesterday evening I did it.
I watched Ultraman, first episode. Somebody posted this link few days ago:
How many of you watched it too?

Of course the e-mail from Omega alerting me to the release came a few minutes after I had made the reservation...I'm guessing too late for many. Based on the consolation e-mail from Omega that went out in January I assumed that those of us who were early wait-listers for the original ST would be given a non-frantic pre-reserved option on the new Ultraman, but that turned out to not be the case. I hope the third time around they make sure that people who were on both waiting lists get a fair crack.

It’s either a misleading Omega email or a miscommunication which was misunderstood by those waitlisted in ST1.

I’m sure Omega will do better next time on ST3.

I watched return of ultraman episode 8 so I could see the watch. I didn't understand it of course, just looked at the moving pictures.

Small world. I sit at section P new main stand. Will look out for the ultraman. If you decide against it, you could always help a Jambo out

I think I’m the only jambo who missed the list . If you don’t like it in the flesh give this jambo a shout

Hi folks,

Newbie here who would very much appreciate some advice. Unfortunately I missed the ultraman though I am on the reserve list.

Do i have a realistic chance of acquiring one on the reserve list? Also when is it that omega begin processing payment for the watches?

Finally, I have a very good chance of acquiring the 2018 CK2998 from my AD soon, I’m tempted to wait out for the ultraman but if I have little chance then I will go for the ck2998 so all thoughts much appreciate. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Southern Scot that’s an extremely helpful reply, very much appreciated. I’m from Edinburgh. Lots of great background information there. With that in mind I suspect I will go for the ck2998 when I get the chance then. Cheers!

How long after the close of ordering did you get on the waiting list ?

If it wasn't long I would wait out for a bit as you would be annoyed if you bought the ck2998 and got a call a day later. 😡😉

CK 2998 will be around for when you know if you can get a ST2 or not.

Long-time Speedy admirer and browser of this forum. Always been a fan of the Snoopy and the Racing edition, so the colourful/playful aspects of the ST2 tick all the boxes for me. The Ultraman is also going to be my first Omega, so really looking forward to the delivery!

As a Brit living in Germany though the currency conversion is a bit hard to swallow. €6020 compared to £4750 (~€5370)...

Does anyone know if Omega would accept changing my boutique to a UK one, so I could time the collection with a trip home?

You can have it sent to any boutique you want, but you have to arrange it NOW
Email the address listed in your confirmation.

Thanks for the advice. I totally missed the boat and got on to the list at 1937 GMT which I think was almost 12 hours after the list opened. Ah well we shall see what happens.

I watched it in the late '60s/ early '70s when it was on US TV. That was enough.

...more then enough 😁

It actually makes the tie-in with the watch a small conflict with me, as the show was pretty horrible. When I read the initial post about the #ST2 being an ultraman theme I was disappointed, but when I saw the actual Racing theme/ color scheme I liked it despite the tie-in.

Although different reasons kind of sums things up for me. I was a huge Godzilla fan growing up in the 70's/80's but strangely Ultraman escaped me completely so the tie-in has no relevance to me. I love the overall design however(as I love the Japan Speedy Racing Pro), except for the subdial which could be enough(aside from being able to afford it) that stops me going through with it when the time comes. I might have to see it in the metal before deciding if I can live with the subdial blob or not.

Just out of curiosity - what were the challenges with the case? Doesn't seem so terribly different to make than a regular moonwatch case.
