I got my Kizzy velcro replica strap a couple of years back, and it's pretty nice.

 

That is really cool. I have one similar I bought from Gas Gas Bones several years ago. These are fun to have.

No, the original NASA Velcro watchbands were manufactured in-house by NASA's Flight Crew Integration Division which had workshops to produce the Speedmaster white and olive green Velcro straps.

My Speedy pre-dates the Moon landings. None of this Johnny-come-lately vinyl strap nonsense*

*Apart from when I wear it on a NATO because the links on my bracelet don't fill me with confidence.

 

I'd love to find one of these NASA-style velcro straps for my co-axial Speedmaster. 21mm between the lugs is a rough size for which to find straps. There are many out there, but nowhere near the number of options as with the older models.
