I pulled out the speedy a couple of days ago and now find that the watch only keeps time for 12 hours after lain to rest. Service or does it just need to be worn a bit? Watch was bought at Littmans in South Florida. The Littmans store here does not sell Omega, but they say they have someone that can service.??
Nice thing about these is its an eta base movement and easily handled by independents. Maybe give N2FHL a yell, Steve is in NJ but he's good and accepts watches by post.
It's an ETA 7750 based movement, so it should run for 48 hours after being fully wound. Not difficult for any competent watchmaker to service, but note that a new Omega case back gasket will be needed though, so whoever does to work would need access to parts. The case back is a snap on type, and uses a hard plastic gasket that deforms when you install the case back - it is a one time use only gasket if you want the full water resistance. Once they are removed they are never as tight as they were originally. Cheers, Al
