    Nice one. Thanks.

What held me back yesterday was that I already have a set of tintin. Tempted to buy just because that set looks cheap in current market. :)

Anyone have a line in on one that's beat up, head only?
I'd love to have a beater one that I can wear daily.

That will still cost you in today's market. Since, it is not going to be cheap, might as well go for a full set for better value retention.

The one on the left is n.o.s bro. The one on the right is mint condition, but it doesn't have the stickers or it's hang tags unfortunately. The n.o.s one is from Japan yes.

Good score and congrats. Enjoy your new toys. It is hard to find these in new condition and at retail. :)

Nice! Be sure to leave the serials so that @blubarb can update the record keeping. BTW, where are we at now???? What's the German Tank Method telling us?

Does anyone see the price going even higher than it already is? If it does, the price for a tintin would be reaching similar prices to speedy Tuesdays

Who knows! The price of these pieces has definitely gone way up from where it was a year ago. I think to understand the true value we need to see where it lands in a couple of years.

It's interesting to see where it lands in a couple of years. I've seen people selling them for way less not even a year ago. Although a lot of my friends are of the opinion that the prices couldn't possibly go any higher. But I guess u never know!

Considering the TinTin was an anomaly and no second, third, fourth editions coming like other LE’s plus less than 2000-and an extremely intriguing story. This watch is eventually a more expensive piece than any ST. I wouldn’t trade a TinTin for a ST. Over the years the rarity will be more realized as collectors stop selling and start hoarding. Finding a TinTin in a few years will be extremely difficult. I think the price will settle in the $12-$15k range and sit there for 2-3 years. 5 years and on I see this in the $20k range and I think it will sit there at $20k until this is in the “vintage” age range and at that point the sky is the limit.

Damn.. I guess I'm going to have to hang on tightly to my nos tintin then. You do have a point that this is an anomaly, and not something planned for regular production. That means we have only witnessed its short term gains. In the long term, could this be a potential silver snoopy? Very intriguing stuff!

To simplify things, prices are determined by supply and demand.

A rough guide will be a search under chxxxx24 and wxxxx recon. If none or only a couple of pcs for sale, then it is a sellers market and expect prices to creep up. If tons for sale, buyers need not rush into it and prices tend to be more negotiable/stable.

For the Tintin, my personal take is they will increase in value till maybe $12-13K as supply is dwindling and no further re-editions will be produced every few years.
