Not sure how they do things over in Europe and beyond, but I checked with my OB back around last June or July--I was told I could not order one as there were no more in their network stateside. I know I saw a few people say (in this thread) that their OBs were no longer allowing orders (toward the end of may?).

From everything I've read, the tintin model sold poorly during production--probably not surprising if it took Omega more than a year to sell off their tiny stockpile.

Did you already post the serial range for that tintin? I'm curious since it may have been one of he last few produced.

I've had 6 this year all new. Some have come and gone in an instant so not had the chance.

I realized I never took a moment to give my SN for the records here:

    77794.5xx

If this helps, it was purchased in Kyoto

Really surprised by the number of these popping up for sale lately (especially BNIB).

The TinTin would look great on the red kevlar strap that comes on some of the X-33's. Perfect pairing to wear on the 4th of July or to a Detroit Red Wings game!

It seems as if people are hoping its the next Japan Racing. It may still be, who knows, but there seems to be quite a bit of churn. I will say, it's not the easiest watch to photograph well. I saw it in the flesh and it really popped. Went to do some research and mull it over and when I looked on line I second guessed myself. Wasn't till I went back that I remembered why I liked it so much.

I have that red Kevlar strap! Maybe I'll post some pics when I get around to it. I think it will slowly increase in value for sure, but definitely no Japan. The seemingly never ending supply of new ones certainly will not help value any time soon. I agree, it's a watch you need to see in person to appreciate.

Agreed. I got mine in March for @5-2800 ish (I forget now) and had no idea I scored such a good deal. Blind luck. That said, I think everyone WANTS them to be worth what Japan Racing is worth (present company included). If I look like I know what i'm doing maybe my wife will be less mad when I come home with more:p

Thank you! I stopped just short of begging someone to post photos with the strap attached. Seeing a detached strap next to a watch just isn't the same.

It's a bit "red" for lack of a better word. But fun for that special situation or occasion

That is a fun strap for it. Hard to pull of every day, but very fetching

Yeah, its one of those things that looks cool on the watch, but doesn't look cool on the wrist (at least mine).

Congrats on your purchase! That black and red Nato looks idealy suited to the Tintin. You said you sourced it from the Omega AD, any idea whether it has a serial number or something? I'd like to source the same and was wondering what to ask my AD for.
    -Cheers!

Watch accessories generally don't have serial numbers--what you need is the part number (98000071, or 98000071L for the long variant). Any AD or OB can order it for you at cost. Last I checked though, all of the kevlar x33 straps were more than $200. If you just want a nice red strap, it'd be far cheaper to go with something like a nice hirsch strap.
How much were they asking for it?
