I agree with you in general, but I would still ascertain that the supply has to be smaller than the demand to make an item "collectible"...
Exactly! The funny thing to me is what folks at Omega must have been thinking when the tintin deal fell apart. I can imagine meetings and late night emails—“ok we have x-amount of watches ready are you sure we can’t get permission to put the damn rocket on the dial??” And then the deal dies and Omega is like—“Ok, plan B, roll with it, stop making tintin dials, release what we’ve done so far and see what happens.”—the moment they made that decision is the amount of “tintins” made. And to me that is interesting! And the crazy thing to me is that it probably actually made for a better looking dial!
Indeed the more common ceramics and pottery pieces are the more valuable these days as they are more collectable.
That is a lovely shot of the dial. Shows very nicely how the Tintin dial appears to have a step. Oh, and now my partner wants a Tintin on a pink, polka-dot strap. So thanks!

The perfect TinTin Nato. What other red Omegas exist that this strap works well with? Seems to have been made for the TinTin
What?!!? Are you suggesting that some "clever" people would deploy such a story to bump up the prices of said watches!!?!?!!? Noooooooo, really!?!!?
