Speedy reduced question

I saw this on my feed today.
Can the Reduced patina (patinated/patinae/pantine pro-v) this well, even the earlier one is 1994. Which is fairly recent for such dark markers.
Serial number 55**
Lumes on hands are gone, but bezel is pristine. Can we conclude bezel is replaced?

I don't think you can conclude much from that (vendor's?) picture. Who put the Evil Eye in that sub-dial at 6? However the bezel on my 5455xxxxx Reduced is still in very good shape. I would worry about the loss of lume in the hands though.

I too have a Speedmaster reduced. I’m not an expert, but from the look of the rest of the watch, I’d say the bezel could very well be original.

Here is one in artificial light. I think the patina looks a shade darker in this pic. Both pics are taken within a month or two of each other.

If you run a search for this model of the Reduced/Automatic on OF, I think you'll find that they go up for sale for a little lower than that. There were a few of them that went up for sale in the later part of last year. (although I have only seen one that I can remember go up for sale this year on OF)

You'll want to budget another $650 - $750 to have it serviced; as most all of the used ones on Ebay will be in need of a service. Omega charges $750 USD, you might be able to find an independent watchmaker to do it for a bit less. My independent was right around the same price as Omega (within $40).

I think that's a bit high, especially considering the hands are in pretty rough shape.

If I had $2400 in my pocket

it would stay there.

No go, cause of see-thru hands?
I figured, my watchmaker can relume the hands to matching patina when serviced.

$2400 is overpriced. These are not rare.
I'd wait for another.

I sold mine in 2019 for 2000CAD, with bracelet.

Lovely.
For the price these guys look awesome, with the strong patina.

Fuzzy pictures, obviously manipulated in one case [*], poor hands, price rather high, You should sit down with a glass of herbal tea [**] and relax. A better one will be along soon.

[*] The photos are .webp format which are a pain to grab for editing otherwise I'd show you the manipulation.

[**] If those herbs are legal where you live 😎
