    I think you have to assume nearly all Cal 321 Speedmasters you buy off eBay need a service before use, not resetting to zero correctly isn't an uncommon issue and shouldn't be a killer problem, just don't buy for crazy money and you should be ok.

    +1 dsio, factor quite a few pennies in for a service - c321 parts are not the easiest for just anyone to come by

    Ballpark for these watches head only is $2500-3000 unserviced with the higher end for the more well preserved versions. They can go for higher for the really excellent examples but will likely not go for much lower.
