Thank you for the kind words - always welcome if you swing by Seoul Korea 馃憤

I didn鈥檛 want to do any irreversible actions to the stock ST1 too, since I really like the stock configuration as well... so the only way was to fit a vintage case to it. Super expensive mod but well worth it!
Hello, I will be in Seoul at Christmas. Any vintage stores that you would recommend to visit?

or watch stores in general really, not just restricted to vintage

Watch scene is pretty dead in Korea unfortunately, think people that consider vintage pieces as "used, secondhand, old"... 馃檨 only bling bling and moderns around, or debating endlessly and fighting about strange issues. Think WUS.
I frequent a place called NOSTIME, though. One of the very few (if not the only?) places that treat vintage properly.
If you might want to meet up PM me! 馃憤

Thanks. NOSTIME is the first and only place on my list of shops to visit. So it's looking less and less likely that I will find my 40th birthday watch in Korea. Back to the hunt on the internets it is!

Hi,

This may be a stupid question, buuut...

Is it possible to modify the fois by replacing the sub dials to create a reverse pandaesque fois?

No, the dial is one piece. You could conceivably have them painted though.

You could replace the FOIS dial with a Mitsukoshi dial... but the final result should not be that different from the ck2998 pulsometer. So if you like the design, I would rather buy the pulsometer directly. There is one up for sale in the private sales section.

Thanks for the info and heads up, trying to curtail watch buying (albeit quite unsuccessfully) at the moment and was more of a potential option for when my fois went into service

Here is my "Blue Moon" mod

I take my hat off to you sir. I researched speedy mods for about a year before pulling the trigger, and remember this as possibly the best new configuration mod I'd seen. Now to get that Gemini dial...

Um, doing the panda mod to a speedy reduced won't be called a Mitsu mod. It would be called probably the Marui mod because the Marui speedy is known to be the panda configuration of the reduced model.

If you get hold of the parts you'd be able to do the swap. For the reduced model people usually just buy a Marui straight off the bat because mod parts and costs aren't economical.

As for the regular speedy straight-lug Mitsukoshi mod, @BatDad has done a beautiful mod that you might want to look into.
Hello, ext1, and @Archer I wanted to ask you guys if you know if the Marui dial (3510.21) can be applied to a Speedmaster Reduced 3539.50 (2nd gen)? I wasn't sure if the case size is the same for both of these models, they appear to both be Cal. 3220. And in your experience, from reading some of your threads, it appears this is no easy feat, I have a local independent watch repair person that has done work for me and I trust him. Thanks for your input! This would just be for my enjoyment, not for selling.

Here is my Marui panda that I traded away yesterday... Serial was confirmed by Archer to be original Marui.

Beauty. What did you trade it for? Would love one of these.
I traded it for a Leica SL and a couple of lenses. ;-)
