Seen this online for sale....price is what I see elsewhere for late 70/80's watches but the seller is saying it is 1991 based on an archive check. No other pics yet but have requested. The dial (script and T SW T), hands and bezel look very similar to 70/80's. Do these traits continue into 90's versions. Movement no. is 48,xxx,xxx. Comments appreciated, tks M
I have seen 48m serials in what should be earlier cases, even 1969's. I think they might be from a time when Omega replaced the entire movement at service.
Awww....interesting. I wonder if when they replaced the movement did they laser the serial number on the case as was the norm for later watches. M
Looks like a re-lumed 3590? 1991 seems right according to Hartmann guide. I have a 1993 that has a 48xxx...but lume is very brown
I see what you mean, and I'm not sure you get that t sw t text with serifs in the 90's models but someone else will have to chime in on that
I compared against my 78 and the details of dial, hands and bezel are all so similar I could not tell any difference. Maybe someone who has been looking at these details longer than I would spot something. I think the movement replaced is a possible scenario. What is the feeling on replaced movements for collectors. It's the same calibre so I'm not so fussed. Maybe better put....if the dial, hands or bezel were replace I wouldn't have started this thread and walked away already. M
I have been looking closer at the images and there is a very sublet difference in the text thickness and font. For sale online - My 79 for comparison Has anyone noted this difference before and any idea of the origin.......
