Hi @ all and Happy New Year, can the specialists here please tell me more about this offered watch at C24? What do you recognize at this speedy. Any information appreciated. atb Jo https://www.chrono24.de/omega/omega...ge-prof-moonwatch-tritium-rare--id7634825.htm
It’s a -69 Speedmaster with the misprinted ‘220’ bezel. I can’t make out the serial to check it’s correct for this bezel, but everything else looks correct. Case is fairly good, bezel not so much.
Not sure why but I cannot zoom in on those pictures to see detail. From what I can see the case looks ok but I do think it’s been polished, albeit to a decent standard. Again, I can’t zoom in on the pictures to confirm. Perhaps you could repost all the pictures here?
Is this "structure" original? Grinding? Must this side be polished or not? IMO my SM 300 -case is similar
I’ll stick with my original thoughts. The case is nice and thick and has the correct lines but it is slightly softer than an unpolished example so has certainly been polished. Obviously this is what you’d expect to see on a 50 year old watch. Unpolished examples are the exception not the norm.
Bezel is not in good condition for collectors, but photographs magnify the flaws. I think it could be nice on the wrist.
This is one of mine. From what I can make out of the serial of the watch in question it looks to be in the range.
Tell me about it as I've been looking for a decent one for over a year now. One is currently available from a reputable seller for a reduced price. The price is reduced because it needs a new crystal and and complete set of new hands. All of which are available but the case back looks as though it was used as a shield in a sword fight. At the end of the day, the severly damaged case back nixed the deal for me
The pushers look like to be too much in the mid case, too small. It seems weird on these pictures… The bezel is not in a perfect condition but the dial and the hands look great. Be careful about the serial too. here’s mine.
Thanks! Especially the bezel and dial are in topcondition. The movementnumber is correct for a “220”.
