A while ago, I've picked up a beautifully aged chocolate Speedmaster dial, encased in what was a completely polished to death case. Details - including pictures of what it looked like upon receipt, can be found here.

Thanks to a true craftsman in Vienna, this case has been brought back to life using laser welding and reprofiling. It is absolutely stunning what he's managed to achieve with what I thought was a case beyond repair. Almost magic!

I was planning on using it for a project, but found other parts to complete that with, whilst this case was being processed and subsequently lost in transit. (And, for the record, the other parts included the movement I needed for that given project too...) Luckily, it resurfaced and is now ready to complete someone else's project with. Perhaps it's the perfect home to a Mark II Racing dial and movement? 😁

Please find a description and assessment of the parts below. I have attempted to be as brutally honest as can be. I am just going to describe them as honestly as can be and leave it for you to assess the pictures and form your own opinion too. Not having too much experience selling parts, nor pricing them, I am open to realistic offers.

Case / Midcase: Please find some pictures of the result below. The case looks almost like new, clean, crisp, sharp and symmetrical. Do note that I suspect the original 145.012-67 / early 145.022-69 case profile has changed a bit, so if you're looking for a true NOS case, this isn't it... It's perfect for general use though!

The caseband comes with:
- Two newly replaced original Omega pushers
- Newly replaced case / crown tube

Price: I am asking EUR 900 (OBRO) for this midcase as I know it is not original, yet in amazing condition to house your next project in.

Note that the caseback and bezel can be sold separately. Please do read on if you're interested...

Caseback: Came with a replacement case which was in decent state. It carried an engraving which we had removed. The original seahorse engraving is still there. The removed engraving is almost gone without a trace, except for a tiny scratch near the R in Speedmaster. We have chosen not to attempt to remove that last trace in order to preserve the original engraving as it came from the factory. I have attempted to picture it at its worst in the last pictures attached below. Hope the pictures make the rest of the description above clear as well.

Price: EUR 800 (now OHPF)

Shipped worldwide at buyers expense, although I would strongly prefer a F2F deal in the Netherlands given the values concerned and, much more importantly, the benefit of meeting a fellow OF-member in person.

No returns, please ask questions and extra pictures in advance. I am not making a habit out of selling, but I do have quite some - exclusively positive - references as a seller and buyer on this forum.

References and Linkedin profile available upon request.

Price: the full package described above is available for EUR 1600 (instead of EUR 1700), or OBRO. All prices mentioned are net to me, and exclude shipping.

On to the pictures…

Thank you for the info, but the casebook seems to be quite worn/scratched.
See picture attached.

Upon request, a picture to show how neatly a genuine 516 sits between the lugs.

Many inquiries, not yet sold. So feel free to drop me a PM.
