    Guys,

Just want to confirm that a 1965 105.012 could have come from the factory with a T [space] SWISS MADE [space] T dial.

    Thanks in advance!!

Affirmative. The text and spacing of the T's is more compact than later models.

But my question refers to 'less compact'.

Speedmaster 101 refers to all 3 dials being observed on 105,012's
    • SWISS MADE
    • T SWISS MADE T
    • T SWISS MADE T
    Just want to confirm................

This is a a wide spaced T, narrow E dial, listed in the moon watch book as a B3 type (1966/67-1969), which could have appeared on a late -65. Close T, wide E dials are B2 type (1964-1966). My 105.012-65 has the B2 type dial.

So the 105.012-66 can go either way (B2/B3)?

If you are going to spend a few thousand on a 105.012, then the moon watch book is worth it IMHO.

I think its worth it all the time, even if you don't buy a 105.012. Incredible read! Everytime I look at pics of different models in there, I wanna buy a lot of them. Maybe I should invest more money in moonwatches...

I have examples of all three iterations of the dial. I think that early serials (early years, -63) had early dials (no T's) and then the close T's and finally the 105.012-66 with wide space T's.

can see them all here http://www.speedmaster101.com/105-012/

So this is my current 105.012 dial thinking. ((Always open to change)

-63 should not have wide space T's - I would expect no T's
-64 could have T's of either spacing, more likely close.
    -65 more likely wide spacing
-66 most likely should have wide space T's, possibly but rarely close T's

the only year to have no T's is the -63.

i shall go and put my anorak away now......
