Like so many others, I really dislike these cumbersome-looking, too-many-goddam-complications Speedmaster things. I mean, what's with the hype, guys?

That was me up until about 48 hours ago. WT...? Sometime Sunday night, something clicked. Monday I woke up, cracked open OF and...now I'm hooked, dammitalltohell. Unbelievable. Like, this would never happen to me, right? To quote a common OF refrain, 'Damn this forum'. And the Canadian dollar.

    Who cares? I do. Finally.

Everything about the dial is pure symmetry, so for someone who is a bit obsessive, it's the perfect chrono.

Good news re: the Canadian dollar! It was up over one cent earlier this week, to just over 77 cents! Get your feet wet.

No worries there. I appreciate the allure but orange is for pumpkins. And blowhard politicians. Mind you, I've been wrong before, no?

Let's all take a moment to appreciate this symmetry...
The edges of the sub dials hit the inner ends of the hour markers perfectly, and are also perfectly spaced...not to far apart, not too close.
The 3 different fonts that make up "Omega Speedmaster Professional" and how they all graduate perfectly under the Omega logo, the logo that houses the triangle of the seconds chrono hand perfectly in the middle of that "O"
Ant then if you were to trace a line down the 2 edges of the "OSP" logos, that line would intersect perfectly with the middle of the hands of the seconds and minutes subdials.
It's all perfect...not like that shitty Daytona.
Yes, I'm being a tad facetious, but these are still all facts.

OMG! Of course. My closest friend on the planet (from Tegelen, in the south) will kill me for forgetting. Hopefully this will mitigate my transgression: If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much.

Haha welcome to the club ;).

That exact thing happend to me with the Sub last week. I used to ignore them for years ...everyone and his brother wears one right?
Damn me for not buying one 3 years ago when I started, now I look at FS posts from 2014/15 while doing some research and cry everytime I see the prices. Anyone got a B&P unpolished 14060 T<25 2 liner for let's say... 3,5 quit?

    Happy Hunting @mydeafcat ;).

OK, so you have an itch that needs scratching. What's the medicine (reference #) you are going to choose for scratching this itch? New, vintage? moon, pre-moon?.

This has to be the funniest post I've seen all day. It's the first post I've seen today but I digress...

Gotta love Speedy. My epiphany came about a year ago. I went from strong like to mad lust.

A fine question. I'm still learning, of course. I suspect a 3570/90 may start my journey. Vintage will be out of my pay grade - something to indulge later! Mind you, everything Speedy is above my means at the moment! A blessing, I reckon.

TBPH, I really like the aesthetics of the newer FOIS. A very vintage look minus the re-mortgaging of my house.

The Canadian dollar is already damned. You don't need to damn it.

I just can't get into chronographs in general. Distracting sub dials and chunky cases. I guess I'm a minimalist.

Hmmmmm,,,interesting assertion - "the perfect chrono"

I'm not so sure I agree with this and I'm not so sure I disagree.

I think the greatest feat of the speedy is that she's a relatively large watch @ 42mm yet never appears too large for just about any wrist out there. That's a great design.
