The 2998 condition report doesn’t a give warm feeling either.
“The chronograph is only functional through the top pusher and is working as a flyback chronograph at the time of cataloguing. The bottom pusher is non-functional.”

Basically means the chrono badly needs a service with hard to source parts.

Stem bolt for hammer is missing or broken, so that specific problem is about $7 to fix...not a big deal.

If it is such a simple fix, don’t you think the seller would have repaired the watch BEFORE listing it for auction?

$7? So the watch is worth $20,007 then?

$19,993 actually...

Trying to imagine a new member reading this thread and thinking "Hell, I'd really better stay away of this vintage trap" 🙁
It's a shame to see such crap auctioned even by well known auction houses 🤦

It’s like the auction houses try to flog all the watches with issues that dealers won’t touch nowadays as they are not a quick flip 😗

Agree - Chisties in particular seem to be pushing watches with real bad issues in their online auctions. You see better watches on ebay.

Indeed. 10k for the 105.003! Is it not full of service parts (professional dial 😒, hands)? How can we explain this price, the total value of the parts should be much lower, no?

What am I missing?

I did not even mention this lot in original post as it had those issues you point out - service parts.

$10,000 seems a lot.

Note the lot is owned by......Christies!

So I wonder how much was pointed out to any client.

IMHO most of the watches in this online auction are in "Catawiki" condition.
What will come next ? A "Marriage" auction ? 😁

Considering what is being payed for these "watches"...should sell mine and fund a new life on the Bahamas with the revenue.
